Login – Troubleshooting CCSF Login Issues

Username / Default Password Format

****RAM ID is different from Employee/Student ID*****
RAM ID – All Characters like – ABCDEFGH
STUDENT/EMPLOYEE ID – Starts with @ / W/WA with the numbers

Students
Note – Below username/password is for Banner, Canvas, Student Wifi, CampusLogin, Starfish, Award Spring, WEPA

  • Username Format (Student ID) – 9 alphanumeric characters that starts with a ‘W’, ‘WA’, or ‘@’
Example: W12345678, WA1234567, @12345678
  • Default Password Format – None
  • Student must claim their account from ramid.ccsf.edu by answering three security questions: Student ID, Last Name, DOB

For Emails

  • Username Format – First initial for the first name + 5 character for last name + 2 digits number
Example:
Mary Smith = msmith (the first one), msmith5 (the sixth one), msmith23 (the twenty-fourth one)
Betty Goldwater = bgoldwat (the first one), bgoldwa5 (the sixth one), bgoldw23 (the twenty-fourth one)
  • Default Password Format (if any) – Random password sent via e-mail (but stored in Banner for student reset)

Domain for student e-mail – mail.google.com

Employee

Note: Below username/password if for network login, e-mail, Argos, Banner, Staff wifi

  • Username Format – First initial of the first name + Last name
  • For the Duplicates (same name) resolved by adding middle initial
Example: o Mark B. Jones = mjones (the first one)
                           o Matthew A. Jones = majones (the second one)
  • Employee ID – Follows the same format as Student ID, 9 alphanumeric characters that starts with a ‘W’, ‘WA’, or ‘@’
Example: W12345678, WA1234567, @12345678
  • Default Password Format (If any) – None
  • Employees must claim their account from ramid.ccsf.edu by answering three security questions: Employee ID, Last Name, DOB

For Email

  • Username Format – First name + “.” + last name. No numbers are added to employee accounts
Example: Sarah Wong = sarah.wong
Susan Wongprasert = susan.wongprasert
  • Default Password Format (If any) – Random password sent via e-mail (but stored in Banner)

Domain for Employee – @ccsf.edu


Account Creation Timeline

Students

First Time Login / Account Activation

Note: Users (Student/Employee) need RAM ID/CCSF ID to start process

  • Enter the Username & click on continue

Students: Your username is the same as your “Student ID number”.
Student Format: W00000001, @00000001, etc.

Faculty/Staff: Your username is the same as your “Network Login ID”.
Faculty/Staff Format: jsmith

Note: Faculty/Staff will be required to check the “I am Staff/Faculty” checkbox

  • On the next screen, Users answer 3 verification/mandatory questions.
  • CCSF Student/Employee ID
  • Last Name
  • DOB
  • On the next screen, follow the Onscreen Instructions.

  • Enter the Username & click on continue

Students:  Your username is the same as your “Student ID number”.
Student Format: W00000001, @00000001, etc.

Faculty/Staff:  Your username is the same as your “Network Login ID”.

Faculty/Staff Format: jsmith

Note: Faculty/Staff will be required to check the “I am Staff/Faculty” checkbox

  • On the next screen, Choose your “Authentication Type“ and enter requested answer. They have a choice of Challenge Answer OR One time passcode.
  • Challenge Answer
  • If they set these up: they can choose a question to answer.
  • One time passcode
  • If they set up an alternate e-mail OR Registered mobile, they can receive a one time passcode.

  • Once the user’s identity has been verified either by answering Challenge Question OR via OTP, the user will be prompted to set a new password.

Password Requirements

  • Password must be at least 8 and no more than 32 characters
  • Do not reuse any of the last 2 passwords used at CCSF
  • Password cannot contain any part of your name or username
  • Password must have at least 1 numeric character

Student Email Reset

  • Go to www.ccsf.edu/myram (Banner/Web4/SSB)
  • Login with the Username & Password
  • Click Student Portal button
  • Click My Profile link
  • Click CCSF email/password reset link (left side)
  • Click Reset Password button (the password will be reset to the default password that is displayed above the button)
